A few days ago, I received a message from one of my closest friends. She had just restarted her running and walking journey and sent me the kind of note that makes you pause. She said she couldn’t have done it without me. That I had been her biggest cheerleader. That quietly, in the background, my own consistency and encouragement helped her believe she could start again.
Love you, FF.
It moved me. Because truthfully, I didn’t even know I was doing that. It was never something I set out to do. I was simply just sharing my days, my routines, the things that make me feel most like myself. But it reminded me of something really powerful: We often have no idea the kind of impact we’re making just by showing up for ourselves.
So I started thinking…What if I took this outside the bounds of one conversation? What if I opened it up to this space? What if we all started showing up for ourselves and one another?
And with that, the idea for this challenge was born.
So, here’s what I’m inviting you into:
For the next 30 days, I’ll be focusing on moving my body intentionally, every day. For me, that usually looks like a run, followed by finishing off my steps with a walk (even if it’s just circling around my house). My goal is 10,000 steps a day, but how you move is entirely up to you.
This isn’t about perfection or performance.
It’s about showing up with grace.
It’s about reminding yourself that your body is worthy of care, movement, and energy.
And it’s about doing it together.
Here’s how it will work:
Commit to 30 days of movement, starting this upcoming Monday, July 21st.
Paid subscribers will join me in our private chat, where I’ll share encouragement, behind-the-scenes notes, voice memos (if possible), and reflections.
I’m encouraging you to share your own updates, too. Photos, what your walk looked like that day, or even just a quiet “I showed up today.” Because if I’ve learned anything, simply showing up for yourself encourages someone else to do the same.
There are no rigid rules here. It could be walking your dog. Pacing your kitchen. Dancing barefoot while folding laundry. All of it counts!
This is about momentum, not mileage. Presence, not pressure.
If you’ve been needing a gentle nudge to move again, to walk, to breathe, to come back to your body, I hope this becomes your invitation.
You won’t be doing it alone. I’ll be moving right alongside you.
See you in the chat starting Monday. (If you’re new here, you can find the private thread at the bottom of this post.)
Can’t Wait!
Kathleen
